As we deal with words, numbers, and graphics in different languages, even minor mistakes or omissions cause material losses to the clients. In order to ensure excellent translation and satisfactory service, we strictly follow our quality control flow, which was set up when Sino-Vantage was first established and has been perfected step by step. In addition, we keep enhancing the training programs for our employees in their respective specialties as well as procedures for supervising translation work. We have the following procedures to ensure superior quality of work:

Job analysis and assignment
Upon receiving your project, the project manager will first study the client's requirements and analyze the documents regarding specialty, difficulty, and turnaround time, work out the schedule, prepare the glossary and reference, determine the TM tools to be used, and then assign the job to appropriate translators with proper skills and background. He or she will also monitor the whole process of translation to ensure consistency in style and terminology as well as the quality and progress of the project.

Drafting by translators
After receiving the assignments, translators will first study the project carefully, including instructions and references, to gain a thorough understanding of the project before commencing the translation. During the translation, your project will be treated in a professional manner with great care and effort. When the translation is completed, translators will conduct self-checks carefully for spelling and punctuation errors and incorrect and missing translations before forwarding the draft for editing.

Editing by editors
Editors will review the translation line by line by comparing the target against the source to ensure accuracy of translation, consistency of terminology, and proper writing style. If the translation is not up to standard, it will be returned to the translator for reworking along with comments and instructions for improvement. If it qualifies, it will go to the next step: proofreading.

Proofreading by QA staff
Next the translation work goes to the QA staff who will use QA tools like QA Distiller or Xbench to further proofread the document for spelling errors, consistency, and format.

Desktop publishing
If typesetting is required by the client, the project is then passed on to the DTP staff for typesetting. The DTP staff will also self-check or cross-check their projects when the DTP work is completed.

Final review
Finally, the PM will review the completed project for final approval and deliver it to the client if the quality is fully guaranteed. Otherwise it will be returned to the translators or DTP staff for necessary amendments.
